One way that Taylor has described this album as her life behind the curtain, including her post-show come down. I argue that this image artfully plays with the bridge between performance and the authentic self. Even on her way to her hotel room with room service on the way, the showgirl continues to posture and perform. Still glittering, still stuffed into her tights and heels. Almost as if the show is never truly over.
